Donald Billy Devine, age 77, Danville, husband of Naomi Carol (Parker) Devine, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington KY after a brief illness. Born June 16, 1939 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was son of the late Elza and Jessie (Pittman) Devine. He attended Rose Hill High School in Mercer County where he played on the basketball team, was former manager of the Coca Cola Plant in Danville, KY, a sales manager for American General Life Insurance Co. for many years, an avid UK fan, liked to bowl and spend time with his grandchildren, friends, and special companion dog, Scarlett.

Survivors besides his wife include: one daughter, Amy (Coby) Gammon of Nicholasville, KY, one son, Robbie (Nicole) Tharp of Harrodsburg, KY; three sisters, Hazel (Donald Ray) Baker of Harrodsburg, KY, Mary (the Late Dewey) Preston of Danville, KY and Violet (Lewis) Carey of Burgin, KY; two brothers, Ralph Devine of Burgin, KY and Bobby (Pat) Devine of Danville, KY; five grandchildren, Jake Gammon of Nashville, TN, Tyrin Richardson of Harrodsburg, KY, Lyric Houston of Harrodsburg, KY, Ry'ann Tharp of Harrodsburg, KY and Isabella Gammon of Nicholasville, KY; his father and mother-in-law, Forrest and Gladys Parker of Danville, KY, a brother-in-law, Thomas Carey of Danville, KY, and several nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Elizabeth Devine and a sister, Mamie Carey.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Monday, August 15, 2016 at Sims Funeral Services by Pastor Kevin Cummins with burial in the Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY.

Pallbearers are: Ferrell Bailey, Coby Gammon, Robbie Tharp, Dale Edwards, Eddie Layton, and Bill Johnson. Honorary bearers are Herb Toombs, Ray Lanham, Arnold Cobb, Chad Whitton and Bill Gammon.

Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2016 from 11:00 am until the hour of service at Sims Funeral Services.
