William Edward "Bo" Yeast

William Edward "Bo" Yeast, age 69, Harrodsburg, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home in Harrodsburg. Born November 19, 1954 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Francis Leroy and Catherine (Dunn) Yeast. Bo was a 1974 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, where he was an outstanding running back for the Harrodsburg Pioneers. During his career he carried the ball 444 times for a total of 3,438 yards (7.7 yards per carry) and scored 312 points. After graduation he attended Morehead State University on a football scholarship for a couple of years. Following that he worked for the Allen Company and retired after 30 years, worked for the local YMCA and recently became a security guard for the E.W. Brown Generating Station. He was an avid UK fan for all sports and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals. Bo was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his former wife Nancy Dean Yeast, Lancaster and his current companion Ruth “Silver Fox” Bottom of Harrodsburg; a daughter Christy (Gary Clark) Yeast of Lexington; a sister Catherine Wheat of Harrodsburg; four brothers George Lee (Dana) Yeast of Danville, Steve (Gwen) Yeast, Nick Ricardo (Debra) Yeast I and Larry (Cequela) Yeast all of Harrodsburg; step son Justin Lilly and step daughter Shelby Lilly of Harrodsburg; a granddaughter Christa Yeast Roland of Lexington; a brother-in-law Nate Bean of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews.  Bo was preceded in death by two brothers Butch Payne and Robbie "Rosa" Yeast; four sisters Sarah Ellis, Alicia Smith, Carol Short and Bobbie Jo Yeast Bean. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Centennial Baptist Church by Bro. Donald Wayne Smith. Private family committal services will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers are Gary Clark, Kevin Jones, Nicholas Short, Keith Walker, Shannon Murray, Wayne Jackson, Vince Kinder and Dan Yates. Bo’s nephews will serve as honorary bearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 am until the hour of services at the church.
