Wendell Drakeford Obituary

Wendell L. H. Drakeford, age 74, Georgetown formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Vickie Carol (Bills) Drakeford, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born August 24, 1949 in Richwood, WV, he was the son of the late Marion Thomas and Loretta Lee (Bennett) Drakeford. Wendell was a 1967 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, attended the University of Kentucky, received his real estate broker’s license and enjoyed buying and selling houses plus other real estate properties. He enjoyed going on vacations, hunting, and listening to music. He attended the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Paris, KY and the Faith Baptist Church in Georgetown.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters Karma Drakeford of Maderia Beach, FL and Selena (Lee) Lakes of Georgetown; two sons Rhett Drakeford of Tampa, FL and Drew Sharp of Georgetown; four grandchildren Kayla Gibb, Cali Drakeford, Branson Drakeford and Nicholas Mason.

Wendell was preceded in death by two brothers Terry Lee Drakeford and James "Jim" Joseph Drakeford and by one sister Linda Louise Drakeford.
