Vivian Marie Bowman, age 67, Louisville passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. Born September 9, 1953 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Gladys Katherine Bowman (Edward Leon) Gooch of Danville and James E. (Alverrine) Parker of Grand Rapids. She was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School, attended Sullivan College in Louisville, was an employee of Allstate Insurance Company for over thirty years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling with family and a close group of cousins who called themselves "The Golden Girls" and playing Bunco with girlfriends. She delighted in spending time with family and friends. She was an avid University of Louisville basketball and tennis fan, enjoyed reading, and fellowship with her church family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange, KY and formerly Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin.
Survivors other than her parents include one daughter: Bridget (James) Brown of Lexington; one sister Penny (Chris) Short of Harrodsburg; five brothers Steve Bowman and Richard (Billie) Gooch both of Lexington, Keith (Catherine) Gooch of Jacksonville, Kirk (Crystal) Parker and Jeff Parker both of MI; three grandchildren Ellis James Brown, Sydney Marie Brown and Aaliyah Jayde Brown all of Lexington; six nieces LaChrista Ellis, Bridget Gooch, Paige Parker, Brittany Parker, Brooke Parker, and Nia Parker; four nephews Christopher Simpson, Keith Gooch II, Aaron Parker, and Kaleb Parker. Vivian was preceded in death by a niece Kimberly Renee Bowman.
A public funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Sims Funeral Services by Reverend Barry Bowman. Burial will be in the Robinson Roe Cemetery in Burgin. Service will be shown live on the internet: http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/49881
