Steven Edward Whaley

Steven Edward Whaley, age 62 passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his home in Lexington. Born April 19, 1957 in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Louis Allen and Lillie (Charles) Whaley, a graduate of Lafayette High School in Lexington, attended Western Kentucky University, an independent contractor in the field of telecommunications and a member of the Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary in Lexington. Among his special interests included painting, construction work, home improvements, viewing cars of all types, reading and he set a school record in high school as an all-time leading receiver while a member of the Lafayette High School football team.

Survivors other than his parents include: one sister Robin (David) Steininger of Harrodsburg, two brothers Mark A. Whaley of Lexington and Michael (Michelle) Whaley of GA; five nieces and nephews Aaron Steininger, Sean Steininger, Vincent Whaley, Rachel Spencer and Makaela Whaley.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church by Father Albert J. DeGiacomo. The Prayer Vigil will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the Church.
