Rose Marie (Steele) Bryant

Rose Marie Bryant, age 88, Harrodsburg, widow of James William Bryant Jr., passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born August 6, 1936 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Leon Ison Steele Sr. and Georgia Marie (Briscoe) Steele. She attended West Side High School in Harrodsburg, was a factory worker at Hallmack, liked to cook and talk with family and friends. Rose was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.

Survivors include two daughters Robin Bryant of Harrodsburg and Joan Marie Pope of SanDiego, CA,;  one sister Peggy Shannon of Urbana, OH; five brothers Ronald (Helen) Steele of Delaware, OH, Carl Walker of Columbus, OH, Glenn Walker, Gary Walker and Keith Walker all of Harrodsburg; one grandchild Sharon Whipple of San Diego, CA; two great grandchildren Mylie Whipple and Chase Whipple both of San Diego, CA;  two sisters in law Betty Steele of Lexington and Margaret Burrus of Harrodsburg; two special friends Pauline Fisher and Judy Jones both of Harrodsburg plus several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rose was preceded in death by a son Richard Bryant, a daughter Wanda Bryant, a brother Leon Steele and a sister Leona Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Darrick Briscoe, Bro. Kendall Dismeaux, Bro. Ralph Smith and Dr. Phil Yates. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are Ricky Parks, Carl Walker, John Steele, Isaiah Burrus, Darryl Shannon and Bill Shannon Jr.
