Robert Bruce Parrott, age 79, Harrodsburg, husband of Thelma Louise (Clark) Parrott, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born September 27, 1941 in Mackville, KY, he was the son of the late William Eugene and Mary Blanche (Baker) Parrott. He was a 1959 graduate of Mackville High School, attended the University of Kentucky majoring in Liberal Arts, was a United States Navy Veteran, a retired Bellsouth/AT&T technician, loved to go camping, do woodworking, being with his grandchildren and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors other than his wife include: two daughters Susan (Todd) Goodlett of Harrodsburg and Kathy (Kevin) Poe of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Blake (Allison) Sims of Lexington, Chaise Sims of Mt. Sterling, Zachary Poe of Lawrenceburg, Alyssa Poe of Frankfort, Will (Hannah) Goodlett of Lexington, Adam (Mikala) Goodlett of Madisonville, and Alex Goodlett of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, James Robert Goodlett and Cadence Jade Sims both of Lexington, KY. Besides his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by a brother Stephen Parrott.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Sims Funeral Services by Marcus Nations and Buddy Shirley.
Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time for services at Sims Funeral Services.
Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with full military honors.
Pallbearers are Blake Sims, Chaise Sims, Zachary Poe, Alyssa Poe, Will Goodlett, Adam Goodlett, Alex Goodlett. Honorary bearers are James Robert Goodlett and Cadence Jade Sims.
Due to the COVID situation MASKS are not REQUIRED but are highly SUGGESTED especially if not vaccinated.
