Rita Mae (Power) Long died peacefully at The Willows of Harrodsburg on November 7, 2023. Born April 18, 1943 in Dayton Ohio. Rita was the daughter to the late Agda C. Power and Amanda J. (Ingram) Power both formerly of Lexington Kentucky and was also preceded in death by her sister Nicole Gillum of Lexington. Rita retired from the University of Kentucky where she worked within the histology department. While she enjoyed her employment, her greatest accomplishment was her devotion to Trinity Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for over thirty years and was later ordained as a deacon within the church. Although she will be greatly missed by her loving family here on earth, we know she is happily reunited with her mother, father and sister in Heaven. She leaves a legacy of love for her Lord and Savior, (Grow in faith, Hope in tomorrow, Love more each year) this is Grandma's Blessings.
Survivors include two daughters Tina (Robin) Hagenbuch of Salvisa and Tammy Tipton of Miami Fl; two granddaughters Jessica (Josh) Dollins of Mt. Vernon, KY and Amy (Lee) Baker Harrodsburg; four grandsons Kristopher (Angelique) Ray of Lexington, Jacob (Courtney) Hagenbuch of Springfield, Keegan Sullivan of Georgetown and Sam Long of Salvisa; eight great-grandchildren Maddison Baker, Brycen Dollins, Brooklyn Baker, Brylee Dollins, Isaac Baker, Olivia Hagenbuch, Lane Hagenbuch and Walker Ray.
There will be a private ceremony following cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt Pleasant Church 446 Mt Pleasant Road, Harrodsburg Kentucky 40330 in memory of Rita Long.
