Phyllis Ann Dunn Walker of Harrodsburg, Kentucky peacefully entered into rest with our Lord, on Sunday, July 23, 2023 while in her home. She was born June 19, 1956 in Harrodsburg to Eleanor White Dunn and the late Walter Dunn Sr. and was preceded in death by her dear brother, Glenn. Phyllis was lovingly nicknamed Bonnie by her father as a young child, the name family and loved ones always used.
Phyllis accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior early in life under Little Zion Baptist church. She was devoted to the Lord and her church and served as a teacher during VBS and educated groups in Bible studies. Phyllis was an active member of the Loyal Benevolent Society #3 since 1983. After God, her son Chad Miguel was the center of her being. They enjoyed a unique and very extraordinary bond of love – a “you and me against the world” as Chad says. She lived to take care of her son.
Phyllis graduated from Burgin High School and attended Murray State University as well as the Bluegrass Community & Technical College. She was a manager of the Harrodsburg Burger Queen and was employed several years as a plant operator at Cricketeer, eventually traveling for the company as a Union Steward. Phyllis then worked for Corning Glass as a glass inspector and while there was specially trained and then advanced to Platinum Smith. In addition to her employment, Phyllis had her own business as an Event Coordinator and decorator called Enhancing, "Making What You Have Even Better!"
Phyllis was truly a gregarious person with a very loving and hospitable spirit. There was never a dull moment when she was around and you could always expect the unexpected. She was a wine connoisseur and gourmet enthusiast, and an especially devoted daughter, phenomenal mother, magnificent sister, and an amazing aunt! Her beloved nieces and nephews looked forward to hearing her distinctive greeting to them of “Hellooo! It's Auntie Bonnie!" which concluded with the original and spectacular Roll-a-kiss!
In addition to her mother and son, Phyllis is survived by brothers Larry Gayton of Harrodsburg, Walter Jr, and Timothy of Lexington, Charles (Trish) Woodstock, Georgia, Jonathan (LaCher) Corinth, Mississippi, Jason (Susan) of Lexington and James (Linda) of Burgin; sisters Leisha (William) Bowling Green, Kentucky, Marita and Michelle, Harrodsburg, and Patricia Jones and Joan Williams, Louisville, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family by blood as well as family by love. Our precious Bonnie is greatly loved and missed!
