Nellus Estes, age 82, Harrodsburg, husband of Mable (Lyons) Estes, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his home. Born February 20, 1943 in Stanford, he was the son of the late Sammy and Anna (Godbey) Estes. He attended Lincoln County High School, was a factory worker at Penn Ventilator and a self-employed carpenter and liked to collect and trade guns and knives. He was a member of the Ellers Memorial Baptist Church in Harrodsburg and attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville.
Survivors other than his wife include two sons William "Mike" (Ann Marie) Estes of Harrodsburg and Greg Allen (Loren) Estes of Moreland; two sisters Betty Mae Satterly of Lincoln Co. and Alberta Rowland of Moreland; four grandchildren. Courtney Estes Zellers, Tiffany Estes Dickson, Matthew Estes and Noah Estes; two step grandchildren Katie & Chris Lappin and many great grandchildren. Nellus was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Estes and two sisters Evelyn Luster and Roberta Estes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg with Bro. Andy Michaels, Bro. Rick Bolton and Bro. Scott Hurst officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Andrew Zellers, Logan Zellers, Steve Zellers, Michael Dickson, Matthew Estes and Noah Estes. Honorary bearers are Floyd Lyons, Willis Lyons, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and several friends.
