Nancy Lee Shewmaker Logue, 79, wife of Billy M. Logue for 61 years, died Sept. 5 at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 23, 1943, in Harrodsburg, to the late Alvin Lee and Mary Martina Perkins Shewmaker, she was raised in Mackville, KY and was a 1961 graduate of Mackville High School. She was also a graduate of Durham Beauty School in Danville. She was a current member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Harrodsburg and was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church for many years where she served as a Sunday School Secretary and VBS helper. She was retired from K-Mart in Danville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Pam (Jeff) Logue Spradling of Jeffersonville, KY; one brother, David Hunter Shewmaker of Paris; one sister, Janice Sue Carter of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, Lee (Ashley) Logue of Lawrenceburg, Devin Logue of Harrodsburg, Erin Logue of Louisville, Riley Logue of Harrodsburg, Katie (Adam) Grashel of Winchester, Emily Spradling of Louisville and Anna Spradling of Lexington. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Kaydance, Leelan, Ethan, and Robin Logue, all of Lawrenceburg. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Logue; a brother, James Shewmaker; three sisters, Mary Helen Harlow, Jean Yates, and Margaret Lou Lodge; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Arrangements are being handled by Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg. The family is honoring her wishes for cremation with no services. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to the Mercer County Humane Society, 165 Eminence Avenue, Harrodsburg, Kentucky 40330.
