Obituary

           Myrtle Ann (Meaux) Griffin, age 64, Harrodsburg, widow of the late Charles Griffin, passed away early Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Signature Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrodsburg. Born February 28, 1958 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Ruby (Shy) Meaux and the late Venus O. Meaux, Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and attended one year at Georgetown College. She was a retiree of Hobart in Danville as a skilled welder for 17 years. Myrtle enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, enjoyed growing flowers, was an avid fan of “Law and Order” as well as watching all the classic TV shows on MeTv Network and the Game Show Network. She also had a passion for food and enjoyed cooking.
          Survivors other than her mother include a daughter-in-law Stephanie Meaux; one sister Lisa Meaux of Lexington; two brothers Ricardo Meaux (Frances) of Lawrenceburg and Shawn Meaux of Los Angeles; three sisters-in-law Sarah Ann Griffin, Yvonne Griffin and Cindy Griffin; two brothers-in-law Larry (Ellen) Griffin and William Griffin; an aunt and uncle Martha and John Cunningham of Lawrenceburg; five step-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her husband and father Myrtle was preceded in death by two sons Latemus Meaux and Joshua Allen; a brother Venus Meaux, Jr.; two brothers-in-law George Griffin and Gregory Griffin; her paternal grandparents Charles (Rowena) Meaux, Sr., and her maternal grandparents, Thomas (Viola) Shy.

            Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sims Funeral Services with Reverend Sherry Green, and Reverend Ralph B. Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

            Visitation will be at Sims Funeral Services from 10:00 am until time of services on Monday.

            Pallbearers are Gary Johnson, Gus Parks, Tony Rawlings, Randall Bartleson, Cecil Smith and Keith Walker.

            Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, Lexington, KY office, PO Box 2193, Lexington, Kentucky 405022.
