Mildred Elizabeth (West) Belcher

Mildred Elizabeth (West) Belcher, age 94, Frankfort formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Jesse Lee Belcher, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born May 17, 1929 in Tyrone (Anderson County), Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Goley and America Serene (Childers) West. She attended Anderson County Schools, received her GED and Nursing Degree prior to being employed by Darnall State Hospital and Eastern State Hospital. She liked to read, watch “The Price is Right” on TV, go to yard sales and attending church where she was a member of the Carpenters Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter Pat Devine of Frankfort; two sons Michael (Linda) E. Darland of San Antonio, TX and Steve (Lonnie) Stratton of DuBois, PA; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents Mildred was preceded in death by two sons Derick Vance Darland and Terry Lynn Darland and by three sisters, Louise Flora, Omega Pittman, and Alpha Haacke.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Carpenter's Christian Church by Greg Warren and John Kesel. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are Patrick Carrier, Phillip Pittman, Cody Kilgore, Kyle Kilgore, Dominic Weldon, and Kevin Darland. Honorary bearers are the Spirit Lifters of the Carpenters Christian Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of services at Carpenter's Christian Church, 1340 US Highway Bypass in Harrodsburg.
