Mary Frances Stratton, age 92, Harrodsburg, widow of Horace McKinley Stratton Jr., passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at The Willows in Harrodsburg. Born August 5, 1928 in Dugansville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Festus Baxter and Verna Bell (Davenport) Robinson. She was a graduate of Fairview High School in Mercer County and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in elementary education from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught in the Cornishville, Harrodsburg and Mercer County Schools. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Mayo Christian Church in Mercer County.
Survivors include one daughter: Anne Robinson (Mark) Donnally and one son Horace McKinley "Kenny" (Nancy) Stratton III both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren Horace McKinley Stratton IV, Kate Donnally and Kylie Donnally all of Harrodsburg. Mary was preceded in death by a brother C.W. Robinson.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Sims Funeral Services followed by funeral services at 11:00 am with The Rev. Peter Doddema, former Rector at the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg and currently Priest-in-Charge of the Church of the Ascension Episcopal Church in Frankfort. Private interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
