Mary Elizabeth (Sutton) Boswell

            Mary Elizabeth Sutton Boswell, age 44, passed away on May 28, 2026 surrounded by love. Born on December 12, 1981, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of Greg and Sue Sutton. In addition to her parents, Mary’s survivors include her beloved son, James Travis Boswell, her sister Katie (Josh) Smith, her sister Annie Sutton, her nephew Cole (Dawn Despain) Smith, her great nephew Cooper Smith, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glen and Leota Foltz, and paternal grandparents, Reid and Florence Sutton.
           Mary’s educational journey took her from Harrodsburg High School to Maryville College in Tennessee. After graduation, she enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University, becoming a Registered Nurse. Her dedication to her profession led her to work at Eastern State Hospital since 2004, where she helped countless patients. Mary was also a clinical instructor at EKU since 2021. 
           Mary’s greatest achievement in life was raising her son, JT. He was her only child, and she was incredibly proud of him every day. She found immense joy in watching him play sports and cherished the memories they made together on their travels. Mary had a deep love for the ocean and dreamed of retiring and moving to the beach. She was an exceptional sister, the kind you wish you had, and an even better friend. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
            A “Celebration of Life” service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026 with Josh Snyder officiating. Prior to the service a visitation time will begin at 12:00 noon at Sims Funeral Services.
           Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm also at Sims Funeral Services.
