Mary Brown Bedinger, age 73, Harrodsburg, wife of Jerry Bedinger, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born June 6, 1948 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dudley Brown and Mary Elizabeth (Herman) Bradshaw. She was a 1966 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, was a factory worker for Modine-Signet for 40 years and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church on Broadway in Harrodsburg.
Survivors other than her husband include: one daughter Kristyl Penman-Bell of Louisville; one son Derek Penman of Lexington; two sisters Loretta Bean of Lexington and Sandra VanDyke of Harrodsburg; three brothers Tilton Everhart Bradshaw, Steve Smith and Cecil Smith all of Harrodsburg; a brother-in-law Eric Bedinger of Cincinnati; her mother-in-law Mary Bedinger of Danville and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father-in-law Calvin Bedinger, five brothers Dudley Brown Jr., John Smith, Gary Smith, Mark Smith and Thomas Hines; two sisters Connie VanDyke and Frances Walker and one sister-in-law Yvette Spaulding.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Sims Funeral Services by Elder J.D. Short III, Bro. Donald Wayne Smith and Mary Wiley Bean. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 from11:00am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Scottie Bottoms, Robert Bean Jr., Braxton Bean, Darius Bean, Braxton Adams, Navire Smith, Devonne Smith.
Honorary bearers are John Mitchell, Earl Harris Jr., Duke Dunn, Leon VanDyke Jr., Michael VanDyke, Don Smith and Truman Bartleson Jr.
