Martha “Poozy” Jane Buster, of Lexington formerly of Harrodsburg passed away on January 18, 2021 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. Born March 5, 1945 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Geneva P. Penman of Harrodsburg and the late Jackie Buster. She attended West Side High School in Harrodsburg, liked to play bingo, play cards, listen to music, attend Red Mile Racing, playing the Lottery, watching television and loved to dance.
Survivors other than her mother include two daughters: Dephanie and Etta Buster both of Lexington; three brothers William (Roberta) Warren of Danville, James Wheat Jr. of Syracuse, NY and Doc Warren of Harrodsburg; two granddaughters NeKeeva Buster of Lexington and Cheracia Carter of Philadelphia, PA; five grandsons Olyjuwon Buster-Mays of Pensacola, FL, Mario Buster, Martaevio Buster, RaShad Buster and Algernon Buster all of Lexington; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Other than her father Martha was preceded in death by two sons Ronald C. Buster and Steven E. Buster; two sisters Bonnie S. Travers and Janice A. Stigall, two stepfathers William Warren Sr. and George Penman; one aunt Lillie Berry Doty and special friend and partner George E. Coulter; one niece Lisa A. Stigall and three great nephews Ricard Cole, Tyler Travers and Christopher Stigall.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services. Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services with Elder J.D. Short III, Pastor Donald Wayne Smith and Rev. Barry Bowman presiding.
Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are Julius Yeast, Lamar Stigall, Mark Stigall, Jaylen Whitley, Gary Brown and Ahntoan Tompkins. Honorary bearers are Jeff Whitley, Shawn Warren, Anthony Stigall, Duwayne Buster, Walter Smith and Robert Cole.
