Loraine (Asbury) Darland

Loraine A. Darland, age 76, Harrodsburg, wife of William Lee “Shorty” Darland Jr., passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home in Harrodsburg. Born October 28, 1946 in Danville, KY, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Flora Lee (Lane) Asbury. She was a graduate of Hustonville High School in Hustonville and was a retired seamstress after working for Cricketeer in Harrodsburg, Cowden in Danville and Mercer Dress in Burgin. Loraine was also a former co-owner of Darland Auto Repair She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors besides her husband include a daughter Neana (Devon) Dugan of Lexington; two sisters Modene Asbury of Danville and Phyllis Jean Pendygraft of Junction City; seven grandchildren Kortnie (Chad) Osborne of Harrodsburg, Kathryn (Dexter & Brenda) Brand of Stanford, Zachary (Karmen) Dugan of Nicholasville, Shelby Dugan of Lexington, Ashley (Clark) Cole, Mackenzie Hall and Kayla Fultz all of Harrodsburg; a son-in-Law Norman Hall of Harrodsburg and fourteen great grandchildren. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter C. Lynette Hall and a sister Lyda Fern Asbury.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at approximately 3:30 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Harrodsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church by Bro. Christopher Darland.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church.
