Lezanne Smock Obituary

Lezanne Lee "Tweety" Smock, age 47, Harrodsburg, daughter of Louise Currens Smock and the late William Smock passed away after losing a hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, March 31, 2023 at her home in Harrodsburg. Born August 26, 1975 in Harrodsburg, she graduated from Boyle County High School where she played the flute in the band and was a member of the color guard. She then graduated with multiple degrees from the University of Kentucky. “Tweety” was most recently an employee at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville and Ephraim McDowell - James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. Prior to that she worked for the Kentucky Department of Nutrition Services, the Kentucky School for the Deaf, Applebee’s and Lone Star restaurants. She was an avid UK athletics fan, enjoyed all of the US 127-yard sales and spending time with her family and friends. “Tweety” was a member of the Carpenter’s Christian Church in Harrodsburg.

Other than her mother, she is survived by a son John Keller Smock of Harrodsburg; two sisters Lisa (Johnny) Dickerson and Leawanna (Mike) Huffman both of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother William David (Robin) Smock of Lexington; two uncles and three special aunts Jimmie (Margaret) Currens, Judy (the late Wallace) Smock both of Harrodsburg and Lee (Shirley) Currens of SC and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There has also been such an outpouring of love and support for “Tweety” during her illness but there are a few special honorable mentions that made daily tasks manageable including Heritage Hospice, Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Bro. Greg Warren, UK Hospital, Markey Cancer Center, Dr. Charles Dietrich who fought hard for her illness, Carolyn Bottoms, Jennifer Newby, Boyle County and Mercer County Fishing Teams, Jessica Worthington, Missy Crawford and Morgan Sadler.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm on Thursday at Sims Funeral Services by Bro Greg Warren, Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. Brian Lucas.

Committal services will follow in the Springhill Cemetery Pavilion with a private family only burial to follow.

Pallbearers are Scott Butts, Mark Wade, Robb Newby, David Christopher, Donnie Leonard and David Smock.
