Karen Young Obituary

Karen Lee Young, age 76, Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Born December 14, 1944 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late James Hamilton and Dorothy Lee (Hollis) Brewer. She received a master’s degree in Medical Technology from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond and served as a Medical Technician at the Patty A. Clay Hospital in Richmond for 44 years. She was a member of the Shawnee Presbyterian Church in Louisville.

Survivors include a brother Dr. James (Patricia) Brewer of Louisville: a niece Jamie Brewer of Louisville; two special friends Rebecca Burkett and Beverly Moberly both of Richmond and her significant companion Walter Young of Harrodsburg.

There will be no visitation or services as cremation was selected. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery later.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg.
