Joyce Ann Moore, age 74, the wife of Samual Dwight Moore completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at her home in Harrodsburg, KY. Born December 5, 1950 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Georgie Frances (Bowman) McKitric Sr. She was a graduate of Burgin Independent Schools, and retired from Walmart in Harrodsburg, KY after 25 years of service. Early in her career she was an employee for American Greeting and Keystone Brush before switching to work retail at the Dollar Store in Lawrenceburg. Her past times included enjoying crafts, painting ceramics, puzzles, cooking, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of the Loyal Benevolent Lodge in Burgin. Joyce was an active member of the Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin where she sang in the choir and was VBS director.
Survivors other than her husband include three daughters Cynthia (Akim) Kufe of Harrodsburg, Melinda Wofford of Burgin and Veronica Wofford of Harrodsburg; a stepson Andrew Dunn of Huntsville, AL; three sisters Dr. Eloise (James) McDowell of Oak Park, IL, Sandra Relford of Lexington and Angela McKitric of Harrodsburg; two brothers Ralph McKitric Jr. of Lexington and Kevin (Mary) McKitric of Danville; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by two sisters Aileen Douglas and Teresa Logan.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin eulogized by Pastor Barry Bowman. Burial will be in Robinson Roe Road Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until time of services at the Little Zion Baptist Church, 604 East Water ST Burgin, KY.
Pallbearers are Tony Dunning, Craig Mckitric, Davelle Smith, Micah McKitric, Daryl Smith, and Fernando McKitric.
To celebrate her memory, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Loyal Benevolent Society No. 3, 173 Cummins Drive Harrodsburg, KY 40330, c/o W. Linton to assist with cemetery upkeep.
