John Albert Mattingly, age 84, Harrodsburg, husband of Marian Bonham Mattingly, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Landmark of Danville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born October 17, 1938 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late James S. and Ruth (Parrott) Mattingly. He was a graduate of Salvisa High School, a professional auto repairman and dealer and was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors other than his wife include four sons John D. (Julie) Mattingly of Rose Hill, James "Jim" (Lisa) Mattingly, Jeff N. (Valerie) Mattingly and Jerry W. (Rhonda) Mattingly all of Harrodsburg, KY; two sisters Betty Trisler of Harrodsburg and Barbara Quinn of Panama City, FL; one brother Charlie (Linda) Mattingly of Harrodsburg; thirteen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by a brother J.W. Mattingly and a sister Mary Rose Quinn.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Springhill Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Doug Wesley, pastor of the Hopewell Baptist Church, presiding. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services.
