Joann Louise (Brunton) Hood

               Joann Louise Hood, age 83, formerly of Harrodsburg, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Brookdale Westlake Village in West Lake, Ohio. Born December 11, 1941 in Perry, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Mason and Louise (Elliott) Brunton. She had a master’s degree in elementary education and was a former teacher in the Harrodsburg Independent School District for several years. 
           Survivors include a daughter: Jean (Kevin) Kilbane of Rocky River, OH; a son Joseph Mason Hood of Harrodsburg; one sister Judith Brunton Hotchkiss; eight grandchildren Josh Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Katie Nelson, Anna Feagan, Alexa Feagan, Mason Feagan, Maggie Beth Hood and Joey Lee Hood; one great grandchild Kennedy Nelson and a host of other relatives and friends. Joann was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Nelson and three brothers Elliott Brunton, Lee Brunton and Leon Brunton.
           A Celebration of Life “get-together” for relatives and friends will be conducted on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services.
