James Harold Milburn, age 89, Harrodsburg, husband of Jeannette Smithey Milburn, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. Born December 15, 1931 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Bill and Florine (Cocanougher) Milburn. He attended Burgin Independent School, was a veteran of the Korean War, having honorably served in the U. S. Marine Corps, a long-time factory worker for Whirlpool in Danville, delivered Sara Lee Bakery products, an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan and was a member of the Bohon Church of Christ.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter Jamie (Jimmy, deceased) Milburn-Cook of Harrodsburg; one son Martin (Becky) Milburn of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren Corey (Morgan) Milburn of Harrodsburg, Seth (Matthew) Singleton of Prospect, KY, Carissa (Zane) Lewis of Harrodsburg and Brody Pitman of Harrodsburg; one great grandchild Hollyn Grace Milburn. James was preceded in death by three brothers Billy Milburn, Donald Milburn and Garland Milburn and by two sisters Dorothy Milburn and Louise Fogt.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. John Moore. Burial with military honors will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Monday, November 29, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Corey Milburn, Zane Lewis, Seth Singleton, Matthew Singleton, Brody Pitman and Scott Devine. Honorary bearers are Carissa Lewis, Morgan Milburn and Hollyn Milburn.
