James William Bryant Jr.

James William Bryant Jr. 88, husband of Rose Marie Steele Bryant, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born December 26, 1935 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James William and Ethel (Doneghy) Bryant Sr. James attended West Side High School and later received his GED and served our country in the United States Army. He then became a machine operator for IBM where he retired in 1990. James enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters Robin Bryant of Harrodsburg and Joan Marie Pope of San Diego, CA; one son William Taylor of Chicago, IL; one sister Peggy Shannon of Urbana, OH; five brothers Gary Walker, Glenn Walker, Keith Walker all of Harrodsburg, Carl Walker of Columbus, OH and Ronald Steele of Delaware, OH; one grandchild Sharon Whipple and two great-grandchildren Mylie Whipple and Chase Whipple all of San Diego, CA.  James was preceded in death by a son Richard Bryant and a daughter Wanda Bryant.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Sims Funeral Services by Rev. Ralph Smith. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

Pallbearers are Keith Walker, Carl Walker, John Steele, Glenn Walker, Dewayne Buster and Isaiah Burrus.
