Gary Mitchell "Mick" Long

Gary Mitchell "Mick" Long, age 71, Danville, longtime companion of Barbara May of Danville, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born September 16, 1952 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Nooe Gilbert and Ella Mae (Martin) Long. Mick was a 1970 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and received his BA Degree in Agriculture at Eastern Kentucky University. He was a landscaper and owner of Danville Landscape Design, enjoyed gardening, landscaping, collecting antique tools and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers Larry (Vicki) Long of Harrodsburg and Jim (Harriette) Coyle of OH; one niece Christi (Bill) Mills of OH; three nephews Ed (Lyndsay) Long and Cliff (Jamie) Long both of Louisville and Shane Coyle of Albuquerque, NM and six great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services with Bill Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are Steve Bruder, Byron Bishop, Dennis Gordon, Ricky Dartt, Otis Delk, Doug Cox, James Pope, Ray Johnson, and Butch Carey.

The family requests that donations be made to the Mercer County High School FFA, 1124 Moberly Road, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
