Freda (Sergent) Doughty

Freda Doughty, age 83, Harrodsburg, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. Born March 22, 1935 in Harlan, KY, she was the daughter of the late Garrett and Jean Sergent, a graduate of Loyall High School in Loyall, Kentucky, a long-time employee for Kroger Company in Harrodsburg, a volunteer at the Haggin Memorial Hospital and the Christian Life Center and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.   

Survivors include: three sons: Mark (Tammy) Doughty, Marvin (Alisha) Doughty and William “Boots” (Sheri) Doughty all of Harrodsburg, KY; a sister Frankie (Silvin) Creech of Onsted, MI, three brothers, Jerry Sergent of Monticello, KY, Jack (Alice) Sergent of Hamilton OH and Bill (Katie) Sergent of Cumberland, KY; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Mike Doughty and three brothers, Ronnie, Bob and Chip Sergent.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services by Rev. Logan Hazelwood and Bro. Doug Wesley with burial in the Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are grandsons: Duran Doughty, Jason Doughty, Lennon Doughty, Derrick Doughty, Tanner Doughty, Brandon Doughty and Jackson Doughty. Honorary bearers are: Beverly Smith, Angela Coburn, Jessica Powell, Tiffany Doughty and Maggie Doughty.
