Fred Haston Anderson Jr., age 79, Harrodsburg, widower of Delilah Ruth VanArsdall Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at his home in Harrodsburg. Born March 26, 1943 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Fred Haston and Mildred Howard (Mattingly) Anderson Sr. Fred attended Mercer County High School, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, became a self-employed painting contractor, loved to attend auctions, all UK sports, raising tomatoes, dancing, listening to Don Ross singing and music and was a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters Crystal Lynn (James) Jackson of Harrodsburg and Freda McCrady of Midway; a sister Margaret (Jimmie) Currens of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren Fred H. (Brandy) Releford of Lebanon, Shayna (Adam) Schneider of NC, Lauren Simpson of Princeton, KY, Colton McCrady and Conner McCrady both of Lexington, Ben (Jonathan Puertos) McCrady of Phoenix, AZ and Melissa (Josh) O'Hair of Cynthiana; four special nephews Terry and Keith Currens, Greg "Chubby" Anderson and Doug Anderson; fourteen great grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Other than his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother Louis Rob Anderson and a sister Alma Jane Harmon.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Sims Funeral Services by Keith Currens. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with military rites. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Colton McCrady, Conner McCrady, Fred Releford, Greg Anderson, Terry Currens, Ralph Anderson, Doug Anderson and Nacho Montes. Honorary bearers are Jimmy Currens and Charlie Mattingly.
