Frank Kemplin, age 77, Harrodsburg, widower of Lynda Jane (Price) Kemplin, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Walker's Trail Senior Living Center in Danville. Born April 7, 1946 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late William Luther and Lona Edith (Willoughby) Kemplin. Frank was a graduate of Pendleton County High School, received his BA Degree from Georgetown College and then entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service in the Army, he became a teacher and coach first at Bath County Schools and then finished his 27-year career as an educator and coach at Harrodsburg High School retiring in 1998. He was an avid fisherman and was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors include three sons Jason (Candace) Lopp of New Albany, IN, Michael Lopp of Harrodsburg and Matthew (Jackie) Lopp of Tomball, TX; one brother Danny (Kathy) Kemplin of Wilder, KY; six grandchildren and many colleagues and friends in the central Kentucky area.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Sims Funeral Services followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 pm.
