Faith Akers, age 86, Salvisa, widow of Brice Akers, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Baptist Health Louisville. Born June 14, 1937 in Prestonsburg, she was the daughter of the late Kenis F. and Martha (Risner) Clark. She was a graduate of Betsy Layne High School in Stanville, KY, a former cashier for the Kroger Co. and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: one daughter Oretta (Tim) Switzer of Simpsonville; one son Barry (Jeri) Akers of Salvisa; four sisters Shirley Belcher of Grundy, VA, Betty Shirazi of Tempe, AZ, Glenda (Alex) Deutch of Lord’s Valley, PA and Linda (Paul) Gearheart of Harold, KY; three brothers Wayne Clark of Tram, KY, Gary (Kathy) Clark of Somerset and Larry (Mary Lou) Clark of Noblesville IN; six grandchildren Karrol (Jennifer) Switzer, Dustin (Alissa) Switzer, Greyson Akers, Ashton Switzer, Carter Akers and Emmerson Hollenbaugh; four great grandchildren Ella Jo Switzer, Harper Bryce Switzer, Hayden Brooke Switzer and Kooper Lee Switzer; one brother-in-law Ransome Meade and one sister-in-law Sandy Clark. Faith was preceded in death by two sisters Josephine (Freeman) Branham and Christine Meade and two brothers Ray F. (Mary Ann) Clark and Ronnie Clark.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro John Kessel. The burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Rd, Nicholasville.
Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
