Emily Catherine Bryant

Emily Catherine Bryant, age 72, Harrodsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born August 7, 1953 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Wilrow Bartleson and Emily Gertrude Bryant. She was a 1971 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and then received her bachelor's degree and master’s degree in education from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio. She then became a full-time teacher at the Lorain City School District in Lorain, Ohio and retired from there. Emily enjoyed going to casinos and playing the lottery and was a member of the St. Peter AME Church in Harrodsburg. 

Survivors include one daughter Mary Kathrine Drummer of Cleveland Heights, OH;  a sister Ruth Ann Bryant of Harrodsburg; one nephew Christopher “Kojack” (Michele) Bryant of Hutto, TX; one niece, Ashli (William) Taylor of Lexington; she was also survived by several great nieces, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm with Rev. Reginald Pullums officiating at the St. Peter AME Church in Harrodsburg.
