Dorothy Virginia Harper, age 90, Danville, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born March 2, 1934 in Campbellsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Elsie (Smith) Hunter.
She was a 1942 graduate of Bate High School, worked in retail and data processing at the University of Kentucky, Centre College, Eastern Kentucky University and was also employed by Walmart. She really loved to read and watch sporting events, especially the LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville.
Survivors include two special friends Dana Lynn (Hill) and (George) Yeast of Danville; "LA Kids from Las Angeles", Susan, Marc, Vincent, Shelley, Stacy and Donovan Bacon, one nephew George Hunter Jr., Wichita, Kansas and two special cousins Paul Smith and Fred Wagner both of Louisville. Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother George Allen Hunter.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Hilldale Cemetery in Danville by Rev. Ronald McCowan with burial to follow.
