Doris Jean Lowe, age 95, Harrodsburg, widow of Loyd Adelbert Lowe, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at her home in Harrodsburg.
Born July 10, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Beryl Catherine (Hamburg) Anacker. She attended Bible School for two years and after marriage she became a full-time homemaker and pastor’s wife. She enjoyed gardening, being a church music director, Sunday School class teacher and participating in all the church women’s programs and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters Laura Kathryn (Rickie) Taylor of Harrodsburg and Deborah Jean (Gerald) Schaffner of Salem, Oregon; a brother Vernon Anacker of Bellevue, Washington; eleven grandchildren Bethany Schaffner-Oldham of Hillsboro, OR., Janelle Schaffner of Hillsboro, OR., Krista Karch of Chevy Chase, MD., Wendy Karch of Gresham, OR, Kathryn Schaffner of Hillsboro, OR, Paul Lloyd Schaffner of Chevy Chase, MD, Sara Schaffner of Aloha, OR., Jorge Loyd Flores of Burnt Hills, NY, Victoria Kathryn Rojas of Perryville and Julia Raquel Mistovich of West Lynn, OR. and eighteen great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by a grandchild Robert David Karch, a great grandchild Kaya Schaffner-Oldham and two brothers Kenneth Vernon Anacker and Arthur Anacker and by two sisters Virginia Hogan and Phyllis Liles.
There will be no local visitation or services.
Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
