Darrell Glenn Bottoms

Darrell Glenn Bottoms, age 87, Crab Orchard passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Maplewood Health & Rehabilitation in Lancaster. Born November 17, 1938 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late William Green Taylor Bottoms and Mary Frances (Bottoms) Bottoms. Darrell accepted Jesus as his Lord at an early age at Deep Creek Baptist Church and served as a Trustee while there. He later moved his membership to Mt. Pleasant Church where he was currently a member. He attended Black School in Rose Hill from the first to the sixth grade where he repeated the sixth grade again because he refused to go to Rose Hill School. He was a mechanic for Southern States, General Electric and then became a self-employed milk and water hauler. Darrell enjoyed working on clocks, dealing with antiques, camping and fishing.

Survivors include two daughters Twana Lane (Terry) Dean of Harrodsburg and Deena (Charles) Miller of Crab Orchard; two sons Darrell (Karen) Bottoms and Steven Bottoms both of Harrodsburg; a sister Wandola (Butch) Cheatham of Harrodsburg; a brother Wathan (Carolyn) Bottoms of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Darrell was preceded in death by five brothers J.T. Bottoms, Robert Bottoms, Walter Bottoms, William "Billy" Bottoms and Neil Bottoms and a sister Barbara Steele.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 10:30 until time of service at Sims Funeral Services.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro Nelson Reynolds and Bro. Derek Baker. Burial will follow in the Deep Creek Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are Jesse Dean, Tim LaDone, Sean Bottoms, Hunter Dean, Sam Dean, and Dallas Arnold.
