Christopher Milo Short

Christopher Milo Short, age 64, Harrodsburg, husband of Henrietta "Penny" (Bowman) Short, passed away at 10:18 am on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. Born August 7, 1958 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Elwood Lay and Frances True Short. He was a 1977 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, attended the Bluegrass Community Technical College in Lexington, started out working for the former Broaddus Clothing Store in Harrodsburg and then Hall-Mack prior to becoming an electrician and plumber for his own company C&S Maintenance. He was a member of Silver Cord Lodge 23 of Harrodsburg, was an avid gardener and a “Jack of all Trades”. Chris was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church on Broadway in Harrodsburg. 

Survivors other than his wife include one daughter LaChrista Ellis of Harrodsburg and one son Christopher (Ceri) Simpson of Elizabethtown, four sisters Lolita Short, Stephanie (Jimmy) Browning and Wilma Linton all of Harrodsburg and Wanda Lay of NY; four grandchildren Wynema Bell of Champagne, IL, Whitley Bell of Glenpool, OK, Khalil Ellis of Loganville, GA and King Lenyx Brown of Harrodsburg.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church on Broadway by Pastor Virgil A. Hill. Burial will follow in Robinson Roe Cemetery in Burgin.

Visitation will be Saturday from10:00 am until the time of services the church.
