Charlotte Mae Hart, age 89, Harrodsburg, widow of Merle J. Hart Sr., passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born March 7, 1937 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Cornell and Lillie B. McRay. Charlotte was a school bus driver for over 33 years for the Mercer County Schools; she also enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking.
Survivors include one daughter Teresa Coleman and one son Merle J. (Lisa) Hart Jr. both of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren Kristie (Michael) Lynch of Danville, M.J. (Tara) Hart of Lawrenceburg, Amy (Eric) Richards of Conroe, TX, Rachel Coleman of Harrodsburg and Branden (Tess) Hart of Lexington. Charlotte was preceded in death by a son Danny J. Hart, a son in law David Coleman, two brothers C.H. "Buddy" McRay and Thomas McRay, four sisters Pansy Houston, Shirley Bailey, Barbara Lake and Kathleen Patterson.
Private graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 6, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery, 2734 Old Stanford Road in Danville by Mark Henson with burial to follow.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Grace Baptist Church.
