Byron Elwood Collier, age 80, Harrodsburg, husband of Devola (Curry) Collier, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Danville Centre For Health and Rehabilitation in Danville. Born May 2, 1939 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Belve and Margaret (Peavler) Collier. He attended Cornishville School, was a self-employed truck driver, enjoyed fox hunting, gardening, farming, spending time with his grandchildren and was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter Carol Nichols of Harrodsburg, two sons Nick (Saralyn) Collier and Todd (Lorrie) Collier both of Harrodsburg; one sister Beuna Grigsby of Harrodsburg and one brother Belve (Stephanie) Collier of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Byron was preceded in death by two brothers Marvin Collier and Marcie Collier.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Steven Brogli and Bro. Mark King. Burial will be in Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are Todd Devine, Vince Kinder, Kelly Bugg, Byron Collier, Billy Grider, Mark Matherly and Curry Collier. Honorary bearers are Chuck Tyler, Dennis Tyler, and John David Tyler.
Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of service at Sims Funeral Services.
