William "Bill" Lester

William “Bill” Winfield Lester, age 92, Harrodsburg passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his home in Harrodsburg. Born May 26, 1926 in Rose Hill, he was the son of the late Hanley Lee and Sara Frances (Devine) Lester. He was a 1946 graduate of Rose Hill High School and was the owner and operator of the Hop-In Bus Station for many years. He loved dancing with the Constitution Square Dancing Club and was a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters Lisa (Fiancée Gary Moss) Lester and Lana (Joey) Yates both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren Bethany (Michael) Sims of Harrodsburg, Joshua (Diana) Garrett of Bossier City, LA, and Cory (Brittney) Garrett of Mt. Sterling; seven great grandchildren Braylen Garrett of Mt. Sterling, Reagan Sims and Anabeth Sims both of Harrodsburg, Judah Garrett and Gideon Garrett both of Bossier City, LA, Silas Garrett of Bossier City, LA and Olivia Garrett of Mt. Sterling; two nieces, Melinda (Donnie) Sexton of Burgin and Marcella (Jon) Baldwin of Bowling Green, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Sims Funeral Services by Josh Garrett. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are: J.W. Logue, Kermit Logue, John Baldwin, Michael Wells and Donnie Sexton. Honorary bearers are: Bruce Harper, Carlos Lester, Earl Kent Nichols, Lynn Nichols, Nolan Nichols, Art Freeman, Lora White, Rita Smith, Gay Sims, and Connie Webb.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services.
