Rita Lane (Clark) Ashton

Rita Lane Ashton, age 73, Harrodsburg, widow of Herbert Ashton, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville, KY. Born October 20, 1944 in Shelbyville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bernice Ann (Simpson) Clark.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lee Ann Clarkson of Harrodsburg, KY and one son James Edward “Eddie” Burton II of Lawrenceburg, KY; three sisters Frankie (Jerry) Huffman and Sue Clark both of Harrodsburg, KY and Linda Clark of Versailles, KY; four grandchildren Sharon Burton of Lawrenceburg, KY, Karen (Michael) Nichols of Versailles, KY, Jason Lane Barnes of Lawrenceburg, KY and Michael Butler of Lexington, KY; five great-grandchildren; she was also survived by a very special friend, Ellie Jones of Salvisa, KY. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Clark.

A celebration of life gathering shall be held from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Sims Funeral Services.
