Loretta Lee (Bennett) Drakeford

Loretta Lee Bennett Drakeford, age 87, Harrodsburg, widow of Marion Thomas Drakeford, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home in Harrodsburg. Born August 20, 1931 in Richwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Henry and Carrie Mae (Jones) Bennett. She was a graduate of Richwood WV High School and obtained an Associate Degree in Business at Fugazzi Business College in Lexington. She was a local area Volunteer Social Worker, a homemaker and a member of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include one son Wendell (Vickie) Drakeford of Georgetown, two sisters Ellen Langford of Nicholasville and Leta (Calvin) Spicer of Irvine, three brothers John (Vontella) Bennett of Hamilton, OH, Joy (Toni) Bennett and Gary (Pat) Bennett both of Lexington, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Loretta was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Louise Drakeford, two sons Terry Lee Drakeford and James "Jim" Joseph Drakeford, one brother Lloyd Sonny Bennett and three sisters Helena Davis, Doris Whited and Burnice Pelly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services with Reverend Peter Doddema officiating.  A Remembrance Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
