June 12, 1923 ~ May 24, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years OldJohn Lee Bryant, age 93, Bowling Green, formerly of Harrodsburg, KY died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Bowling Green Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born June 12, 1923 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late George and Linda (Coffey) Bryant. He was a graduate of West Side High School in Harrodsburg, KY, a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a former member of the Masonic Lodge, a Kentucky Colonel, a former US Postal Service mailman in Cleveland, Ohio, a former employee of the cable company in Danville, KY, was a retiree from Eaton Corporation in Harrodsburg, KY after eleven years of service, a former trustee at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, a member of the 1939 State High School Basketball Championship Team while attending West Side High School, and a member of First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, KY.
Survivors include: three daughters Ann Bryant Tabbs of Danville, KY, Janice Bryant of Atlanta, GA and Jo Ann Stigall of Harrodsburg, KY; two sons George V. Bryant of Wendell, NC and David C. Bryant of Bowling Green, KY; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John E. Bryant; two brothers Elijah Bryant and James William Bryant, Sr.; four sisters Georgia Chenault, Marie Hunn, Katie Augustus, and Bessie Fisher.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, June 1, 2014 at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg, KY by Rev. Wendrell Hunn. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
