Jayola Camic Alcorn, age 73, wife of Roy Alcorn of Troy, North Carolina passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC. Born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on November 24, 1945 to the late J. T. and Ethel Marie Peavler Camic. She was a member of Dover Baptist Church and was a retired clothing store secretary.
Survivors other than her husband include a daughter, Watana Alcorn and a son Aaron Alcorn both of Troy, NC; two nieces Lawana Wilson of Richmond, KY and Melody Greenup of Waddy, KY; several cousins including Roger Sims, Genie Sims and LeMayne Ellis all of Harrodsburg, Mike Camic of Danville, Bettie Kingkade and Sandy Barbella both of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Haldon Hale Camic and a sister LouVenus Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Dover Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Bouldin, Rev. Ronnie Stewart and Rev. Pat Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home at 216 South Main Street, Star, NC 27356 (https://phillipsfh.com) and other times at the home of her daughter, Watana Alcorn at 207 Stanley Street in Troy, NC.
