Jay B. Peavler Jr.

Jay B Peavler, Jr., age 66, Harrodsburg, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Harrodsburg. Born January 29, 1952 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of Jay B. Peavler Sr. and the late Helen (Warner) Peavler Durr. He was a 1970 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University, was a former Kentucky State Trooper, a Personnel Director for IBM in Tampa Florida, and a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Harrodsburg.

Survivors other than his father include: one daughter Julie (Cary) Carpenter of MN; one son Nicholas (Heather) Peavler of Tampa, FL; two sisters Janice (Gary) Minch of Owenton, KY and Susan Durr of Danville, KY; one brother Darrell (Carolyn) Peavler of Greenwood, IN and two grandchildren Ellie and Owen Carpenter of MN.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services by Father Albert DeGiacomo. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers are Brian Minch, Kevin Minch, Wm Hayslett, Ashley Peavler, Larry Camic, and Randy Baker.
