Helena Mae (Bennett) Davis

Helena Mae Bennett Wilson Davis, age 81, Harrodsburg, widow of Ora Davis and devoted Christian, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her residence in Harrodsburg. Born January 8, 1937 in Saxmon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Henry and Carrie Mae (Jones) Bennett. She was a bookkeeper, then a self-employed upholsterer and seamstress. Helena loved to travel, sew, play the piano and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include one son Robert Lee (Vonda) Wilson, Jr. of Stanford,  one daughter Carla Jean Wilson of Harrodsburg, three sisters Loretta Drakeford of Harrodsburg, Ellen Langford of Nicholasville, and Leta (Calvin) Spicer of Irvine, three brothers John (Vontella) Bennett of Hamilton, OH, Joey (Toni) Bennett and Gary (Pat) Bennett both of Lexington, two grandchildren Robert Lee (Tiffany) Wilson, III of Bryantsville, and Cassie (Roger) Sims of Harrodsburg  four great grandchildren Colton and Blaize Sims both of Harrodsburg and Jude and Beck Wilson both of Bryantsville.

Helena was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd "Sonny" Bennett and two sisters Doris Whited and Burnice Pelley.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services by Anthony Martin. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville.

Pallbearers are: Robert Lee Wilson, III, Colton Sims, Wendell Drakeford, Jonathan Bennett, Curtis Spicer and John H. Bennett.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday, October 11th from 10:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
