Harold Douglas Driskell, age 62, Salvisa, husband of Edna Faye Rasnake Driskell, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his residence. Born August 21, 1956 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Thomas Allen and Elsie Vena (Smith) Driskell. He was a graduate of Mercer County High School, attended police training at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, was a former corrections officer at North Point Training Center in Burgin, a former police officer for the City of Harrodsburg and was a retired deputy sheriff for Mercer County. He loved to hunt, fish, play the mandolin and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ in Christian Union in Burgin.
Survivors other than his wife include: two sisters Sheila Murphy of Lawrenceburg and Debbie (James) Watts of Harrodsburg, one brother Michael (Bonnie) Driskell of Salvisa, a godson Xavier Wiley and his dad Mikeal Wiley both of Frankfort. Harold was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Price.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services with Bro. Johnny Hockersmith and Bro. Leland Conway officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Police Officer Honor Guard Ceremonies.
Pallbearers are: Earl Driskell, J.T. Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Jamie Watts, Buddy Watts and Wayne Goodlett. Honorary bearers are staff and members of the Mercer Co. Sheriff's Office.
Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until the hour of service at Sims Funeral Services.
