Elizabeth Lee (Taylor) Harris

Elizabeth L. Harris, age 77, Harrodsburg, widow of William D. Harris, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center in Harrodsburg. Born February 19, 1940 in Talmage, KY, she was the daughter of the late Timothy Hamilton and Russie (Vandyke) Taylor Sr. She attended West Side School and was a 1957 graduate of Mercer County High School. She was a registered nurse having been employed by the James B. Haggin Hospital for over 30 years.

Survivors include: one brother Timothy Hamilton Taylor of AL; two step sons, William Pipes of Louisville, KY and Richard (Alishia) Pipes, of Radcliff, KY; three step grandchildren, one great step grandchild; four brothers and sisters-in-law including Robert (Gwen) Harris of Harrodsburg, KY, Andy (Charlotte) Harris of Harrodsburg, KY, John (Mary) Harris of Harrodsburg, KY, Frederick (Mary) Haygood of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters-in-law Martha Sanders and Mary Harris of Louisville, KY and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by two brothers Walter Taylor and Harvey Taylor, and by three sisters, Maitha Taylor Meaux, Clarene Taylor and Adelene Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church at 349 West Broadway in Harrodsburg by Brother Virgil A. Hill. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are: Andy Harris, John Harris, Joshua Thompson, Brandon Meaux, Jerome Harris and Randall Bartleson. Honorary bearers are Zeydan Jackson and Zaryn Jackson

Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of service at First Baptist Church, 349 West Broadway Street in Harrodsburg, KY. Arrangements entrusted to Sims Funeral Services of Harrodsburg
