Charles Walker Sims, age 87, Harrodsburg, husband of Martha (Wilson) Sims, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Harrodsburg. Born July 28, 1930 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Goodloe and Elizabeth (Jordan) Sims. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force, was a self-employed truck driver, was an avid fisherman, cherished riding his motorcycles, loved being with his grandchildren, was a Kentucky Colonel, was a member of the Grapevine Christian Church and the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Linda Kay (Joe) Cooley of Versailles; two sons, Kenneth Wayne (Johanna) Sims of Harrodsburg and Keith W. Sims of Walton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Sims.
Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm, Monday at Sims Funeral Services by Joe Cooley. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery with Military Rites.
Pallbearers are: Jacob Sims, Chris Clan, Charlie Sims, Andy Sims, Keith Sims, Terry Steele, Matt King, and Tyler Guinn.
