Bruce Allen Carey

Bruce Allen Carey, age 72, Harrodsburg, husband of Cheryl Jean Raines Carey, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home in Harrodsburg. Born August 2, 1946 in Mt. Washington, KY, he was the son of the late Marvin and Iona (Gentry) Carey. He attended Mt. Washington High School, was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired material handler for the General Electric Company in Louisville and was a member of the Berea Christian Church.

Survivors other than his wife include two sons: Terry (Jennifer Baker) Carey and Jason (Lisa) Carey of both of Harrodsburg, KY; one step-son Larry (Angela) Stayton of Louisville; two sisters Betty (Omer) Proctor of Shepherdsville and Mary (Terry) Hedgepath of Fern Creek; one brother Boyce (Rose) Carey of Mt. Washington; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Bruce was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Carey and two sisters, Lana Durr and LaVonne Carey.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro Nelson Reynolds. Burial will be in the Mt. Washington Cemetery in Mt. Washington, KY.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until the hour of service at Sims Funeral Services.
