Bobby Ray Durham, age 59, Danville, husband of Tammy Renee Baker Durham, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born September 30, 1959 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Vivian (Combs) Durham. He was a graduate of Stanford High School, received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University, he served as a police officer and detective for the Harrodsburg Police Department and a police officer in Stanford, was a Kentucky Colonel, loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren and was a member of the Hedgeville Baptist Church in Danville.
Survivors other than his wife include: two daughters Sharonita Adams of Lancaster and Whitney (Michael) Cash of Perryville, two sons Willie (Kim) Durham and Billy Grider of Danville, three sisters Cathy Preston of Lancaster, Kim (Chris) Gaskin of Danville and Tammy Lamb of Lancaster, five brothers Charles (Tammy) Durham of Moreland, Michael Durham of Stanford, Roger (Wendy) Durham of Douglasville, GA, Larry Durham of Moreland and John (Donna) Hughes of Charlotte, NC, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, an aunt, Virginia Roberts of Campbellsburg, KY, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He had a very special relative Barrett (Christina). Bobby was preceded in death by two sisters, Vickie Denham and Brenda Taylor and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Sims Funeral Services by Terry Cornish. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, 630 KY Highway 78, Stanford, KY.
Pallbearers are: Bryce Adams, Ben Daugherty, Michael Cash, Brandon Gaskin, Bryan Gaskin, and Greg Durham. Honorary bearers are the Staff & Members of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the funeral home in order to assist in funeral expenses.
