Betty Jewell (Ross) Goodlett

Betty Jewell Goodlett, age 86, Harrodsburg, widow of Haldon Goodlett, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville after an extended illness. Born August 26, 1931 in Springfield, KY, she was daughter of the late Marvin and Lucy Jane (Milburn) Ross.  In 1991 Betty retired from Corning Glass Works in Harrodsburg and continued as an honorary retired employee achieving a total of 64 years, she was a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union, loved listening to WHBN, cooking, crocheting and was a member of the Harrodsburg church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters: Elaine (Phil) Rutter of Nicholasville, KY and Angela Rose Goodlett of Somerset, KY, one son, Connie Dale Goodlett of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Louise (Shirley) Ross Yeast of Cardwell, KY and a half-sister, Thelma (McMillin) Miller of DeKalb, IL; four grandchildren, Philip (Carolyn) Landon Rutter of Lexington, KY, Tonya (Mark) Francis of Harrodsburg, Daphne (Lucas) Haile of Eubank, KY and Jennifer Michelle Dunn of Harrodsburg, KY; 10 great grandchildren, Kylie Paige Haile, Sawyer Tate Haile and Hunter Caleb Haile all of Eubank, KY, Lincoln Graham Rutter and Charlotte Anne Rutter both of Lexington, KY, Kayla Dunn, Tyler Dunn, Miranda Dunn, Clayton Dale Francis and Matthew Francis all of Harrodsburg, KY and one step-great-grandchild, Rodman Tolliver; three great-great grandchildren, Colton Dale Francis, Layney Kaye Francis and Ryker Ray Goode all of Harrodsburg, KY. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Odell (Ross) Darland and Rachel (McCarty) Stewart, one brother, Garnet Ross and a half brother, Harry Clellen McCarty.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Sims Funeral Services by Landon Rutter and Keith Greer. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers are: Tyler Dunn, Mel Farmwald, Matthew Francis, Gary McCarty, Tony McCarty, and Kendall Ross. Honorary bearers are:  Carole Anne Freeman, Duane Hall, Ron Leasure, Bill Releford, Carroll Semones, Buddy Shirley, Timmy Shirley, Tommy Shirley and Toni Sims.
